Emotions-Focused Therapy (EFT)
When working with couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help them understand the underlying dynamics of their relationship. I support my clients in identifying the recurring emotional cycles that are often shaped by their individual histories. These cycles can become entrenched when each partner reacts from their own fight, flight, or freeze response. By bringing awareness to these patterns, I help couples recognize how their reactions affect one another, and together, we work on breaking these cycles to foster more secure, emotionally connected relationships.
This work can be really healing as your partner and you get to show up with kindness and understanding towards yourselves and each other as you process long held hurts that may not even have started in your relationship. You will get to understand your cycles, learn to interrupt them, and notice how that shift changes the relationship and your trust in yourself and your partner.
